Spanish Club Visits Heifer Ranch

On April 18th the Spanish Club made the two hour drive to Perryville, AR to visit Heifer Ranch. Heifer Ranch is a 1,200 acre working farm filled with gardens and animals such as goats, pigs, and horses. There, the members were able to participate in hands on interactive programs and activities promoting sustainable solutions to global hunger, poverty, and environmental degreadation.
Heifer International is a nonprofit charity organization that aims to work with communityies to end world hunger and poverty and to care for the Earth. This particular organization works to empower families to overcome poverty and hunger by providing them with with animals that provide the seven M's: milk, manure, meat, muscle, money, materials, and motivation.
Before the group returned to school, they presented Heifer with a $150 donation to support their efforts. More information can be found at www.heifer.org.
