Each day many Americans wake up and go to work. The real question is do they enjoy what they do. One person who truly enjoys their job is Mr. Robert Berus.Mr. Berus attended Henderson State University and has been a teacher for 4 years at Star City High School. I asked why he chose his profession, his response was “I was inspired by teachers when I was in High School and I wanted to make the same positive Impact on students like they did. I followed that question by asking what he enjoyed about his job. “ I enjoy getting to see students understand and learn the material I am teaching, I can see the impact that my class is leaving on them.” It is obvious that he was meant to be in the classroom as a teacher.
I asked if he would change anything about his work place, “ I would love to see more student accountability.” In the classroom, students should be able to handle somethings on their own. When it comes to the workplace, professionalism is a vital part. “I don’t have an issue with any coworkers, but if I did, I would recommend avoiding confrontation and just talking it out at a more professional time.” “Be respectful and be polite and it will be professional.” Mr. Berus recommends anyone who likes being in the classroom and who likes what goes on in a school to certainly pursue a career in education. “ It is a very rewarding job, you get to see first hand students growing and developing as individuals.”
Mr.Berus is a great role model for anyone. He has a passion for educating students and that is shown daily. To anyone who is considering a career in education Mr. Berus is one person you can get inspiration from. He can direct and guide anyone in the right path and is very willing to help. Mr. Berus loves to see improvement in people so he will go out of the way to help anyone.
Mr. Berus uses every opportunity he can to inspire someone. “ I was inspired so I want to to inspire”. That is just what He did for me. Mr. Berus feels you should set your dreams and stick with them just as he did. In the end it will all pay off. You will be happy with your job and each day you will enjoy going to it. Each day we are faced with opportunity to make change, we can’t help everyone but everyone can help someone.
