Cafeteria manager, Theresa Sanders, addressed student concerns regarding a lack of condiments, new trays, and cafeteria crowding. According to Trace Beard, senior, you only get one small packet of ketchup and “you run out very fast”. Mrs. Sanders stated that the State Department has regulations regarding calories and the pumps gave more ketchup than allowed. Mrs. Sanders explained that students are allowed “one ounce” of ketchup which is one packet. Mrs. Sanders detailed measures taken to cut costs in the cafeteria, including replacing the Styrofoam trays with hard plastic. The new trays will save on supply costs in the long run. The last issue discussed by Mrs. Sanders was the overcrowding in the cafeteria. Mrs. Sanders is unaware of any plans to address the crowding but agrees it is an issue. Mrs. Sanders did ask that all students to be aware of one thing : “Please do not put gum on the trays!” All in all, the SCHS cafeteria is dedicated to serving students.
